Our Bold Question

How can technology be leveraged to make higher education and skills for 21st – century workplace
more inclusive, affordable and accessible for all groups of learners, irrespective of social
economic orientation, while generating job opportunities for thousands of
trained instructors that are currently not absorbed by the system?

The Problem

Fundamental evidence exists that a large population of students in Africa are unable to transition to higher education and gain sufficient knowledge and skills to remain relevant in the 21st century world of work. Evidence also suggests that, Africa consists of a large number of highly educated people currently unemployed due to inequalities between work demand and labor market supply.

Employers consider a large proportion of graduates to be under-skilled and thus insufficient for the modern marketplace. There is a substantial gap between the abilities of job applicants and the requirements of organizations.

This anomaly is predominantly accelerated by the high cost of professional training, the poor accessibility to high-quality higher

education, lack of appropriate curriculum material matching the dynamic demands of the 21st century marketplace.

With the digitization of every sector, the world is becoming a global economy. Africa cannot continue to be on the sidelines – Africa needs economically-wide digital integration across all sectors.

Our Solution

Integration of online with traditional face-to-face class activities in a planned, pedagogically valuable manner. TAI advocates for formal education program in which a student learns at least in part through online delivery of content and instruction with some element of student control over time, process, pace and place.
